Wow! I am still in awe over yesterday's super successful Lobby Day!! The power you feel after leaving an event like this is unmatched. Our morning began with a brief and very informative presentation by Zoe Patchell of Cannabis Bureau of Delaware (CBD). Her PowerPoint included several key points and various citations she prepared for us to make meeting with our representatives productive and effective. One of the most moving and inspirational parts of this prep-meeting was when we went around the room and explained why the legalization of Cannabis is important to us personally. Reasons included everything from financial benefits for the state and our communities, to no longer wanting to be afraid of harsh punishments for a harmless plant.
After our preparation, we attended as a group a meeting with Pam Price, Chief of Staff who was very pleasant and seemed to be on board with our thought process and reasoning. We handed out folders to each Representative filled with all of the key points we touched on in our meetings, or, if unavailable to meet we would leave the information for reception to place in their mailboxes. Many of the lobbyist had also scheduled meetings with our appointed Representative. To say the least, we made our presence know.
